Description

The 2009-2011 University of Washington Capstone Airplane Design Projects

selected flight segments

Each year - a new airplane design challenge that would make a contribution to the state of the art in airplane design.

The course spans two quarters, 20 academic weeks.

Substantial analysis and testing, including wind tunnel testing, support the design.

The resulting UAVs - usually, scaled down versions of the full-size configurations developed - are completely designed, built, and instrumented by a student team of about 25-35 seniors in the William E. Boeing Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

All-composite airframe technology is used.
